THE MIND AS MASTER
Many of us walk through life on automatic pilot. We react emotionally to our surroundings, expressing ourselves from places of impulse rather than introspection. Often, this can lead to struggles that are not necessary. Before we can get to that, we need to understand how the subconscious mind works and its essential role as the master of your universe.
SUBCONCIOUS VS CONCIOUS MIND
Our conscious mind is the one we are most familiar with. It’s the voice in our heads we hear daily, telling us how to feel, what to think, to react or not to react, and so on. It is the gatekeeper to the subconscious mind, the supercomputer that creates our world.
The way they work together is essential since the conscious mind plays a huge role in whether or not our subconscious mind will receive the correct command to create an abundant life.
Beliefs and emotions are the energy source behind the commands. Many belief systems are developed during childhood. Whether it was a positive or negative experience plays a role in how we feel about ourselves and the world. When we affirm negative thought patterns, they become a habit in our brains. We may not be aware we are repeating these habits because they are so ingrained in our subconscious programming.
TRYING TO STAY POSITIVE
Even when our conscious mind tries to stay positive through the use of affirmations, we may find little success in manifesting our desires. This is especially true if we subconsciously believe that loss, deprivation, fear, or abandonment is what we usually attract.
It’s not that positive thoughts or affirmations don’t work. They do, as long as they align with our beliefs. This is the trick. The subconscious mind rejects ANYTHING that doesn’t align with our beliefs. Because what we believe directly controls how we FEEL. Emotion is the energy that powers manifestation, positive or negative. So, this component must be addressed before those wonderful affirmations can take effect.
HOW OUR BELIEFS AFFECT EVERYTHING
To find out if there is power in words, feelings, and beliefs, I had to put myself to the test. After much introspection, I concluded that my programming was outdated and desperately needed a positivity upgrade. Looking deep within, I discovered that my issues with betrayal and abandonment were writing the script of my life into a dramatic telenovela. I desperately needed a plot revision, but I had no idea where to start. As usual, my intuition would guide me.
THE POWER OF FAITH
Suppose we believe the universe has our back? What if we BELIEVE that we are taken care of, abundance is all around us, and an unlimited universal supply exists? Will our lives change for the better? In my experience, I can say with absolute certainty, YES. Holding faith that everything is already working out for the best is the first step in a long but worthwhile process.
SO, HOW DO WE TRAIN OUR BRAINS?
There are endless books on this subject by authors who are far more qualified than I to teach you how to accomplish this, but the long and short of it is this: YOU MUST RETRAIN YOUR SUBCONSCIOUS mind.

Doing this exercise at night has had the most positive results. At night, we don’t have the chatter of our conscious mind mocking us for trying to retrain our brains. We all have that nagging voice reminding us that our efforts are futile because they’ve never worked. That voice shuts up when we are getting ready to sleep.
It also keeps quiet when in place of affirmations like “I am healthy,” which we may not believe because there is no evidence of health; we use commands like “health.” There is no attachment to the I, so for some people, this works better to retrain the mind.
Here are some commands to try:
You can come up with ones that fit your journey. I do them at night while listening to Solfeggio Frequencies. It is challenging to change years of programming, but it is worth it. When you realize the power of your mind is in your hands, you will become less anxious; you will understand that you are in control, not some outside source. And when you feel empowered, you will attract more blessings than you ever knew possible.
