Joie de Coeur

If we embrace each day with Joie de Vivre, the joyful zest for life, we naturally open ourselves to adventure and the incredible power of the heart.

Earlier this week, one of my closest friends in Greenwich organized a girls’ trip to the city filled with exciting events. One of our stops was the Baccarat Hotel, where Amir, the General Manager of the Hotel Boutique, greeted us.

He had arranged a private tour of their latest collection, which we were eager to see.

A JOYFUL ADVENTURE

As we wandered into the opulent lobby, I couldn’t help but be struck by the grandeur of the space. Even the elevator—though I’m not usually a fan—was stunningly classic.

Upon entering the boutique, I watched in awe as light danced through the iconic crystal pieces arranged in an elegant, timeless manner.

My attention was drawn to a heart-shaped crystal from EMILY IN PARIS—the one Antoine Lambert acquired when Maison Lavaux collaborated with Baccarat to create the ” Heartbreak ” perfume.”

For fans like me, you’ll remember the heart on display at the glamorous masquerade launch party, filmed at the Galerie-Musée Baccarat in Paris.

For Paris fans, the museum is located in the 16th arrondissement at 11, place des États-UnisParisFrance. It is open daily except Sundays, Mondays, and holidays; an admission fee is charged.

A HEART OF CRYSTAL

Noticing my interest, Amir, who could only be described as having a “heart of crystal” himself, shared the exciting backstory of how Executive Producer Darren Star and Baccarat came together for this collaboration. It’s a story I highly recommend hearing firsthand when you visit their store in New York City.

Admiring the delicate nature of the heart, I was struck by its symbolism. As I’ve mentioned before, there is a magic in heart connections—a powerful magnetic field that extends three feet around us, connecting us with everyone and everything we encounter.

Perhaps Baccarat has always understood this power. After 260 years in business, it is clear their “heart energy” is infused into each product they create. Baccarat first crafted the Coeur Amour crystal in 1988, stating that “Its contours are perfectly formed to refract light. The depth of the shape echos the depth of love it symbolically represents.”

THE ADVENTURE CONTINUES

Onward we went to the Baccarat store on Madison Avenue, where we were warmly greeted by Tinoy and Leen—two more “crystal hearts.” As we chatted about life, crystals, and everything in between, we discovered mutual friends.

“Quelle surprise,” I thought momentarily… but was it really?

From my experience, there are no accidents, and the heart never leads us anywhere or to anyone we’re not meant to be with. Reflecting on that day, I couldn’t help but wonder if embracing Joie de Coeur is what truly opens us to all the beauty life has to offer.

These joyful heart connections remind me of how beautifully small and interconnected our world is, especially when you approach every adventure with an open heart.

Keep Seeking,
