Your friend just got that job she was waiting for. You’ve been unemployed for the last three months, and when her chipper voice rings out over the phone to tell you about her good news, you immediately feel upset.
“Why her? Why does she always get everything she wants? What about me?”
I had a friend like this; whenever something incredible happened to me, she would instantly become jealous or angry, which would be VERY obvious.
So why are some unable to be happy for other people’s successes?
Most people believe it’s due to jealousy. They feel somehow inferior and think they could never compete with you. You could then argue it might be natural for them to feel unhappy about your success.
But it’s not.
The truth is those who can’t be happy for others are inherently unhappy.
It doesn’t matter if they are super successful, wealthy, healthy, or lucky in love.
It also doesn’t matter if they are none of the above.
The truth lies within. If you are not happy with who you are, you will never be capable of being truly happy for others.
And while some of you might think it doesn’t matter, it does. It matters a lot, especially from an energetic standpoint.
Living in a universe that pulls everything toward you that you vibrate with, being in a constant state of unhappiness will only attract more of that to you.
And when we spread those negative feelings to others enjoying successes in their lives, we delay our abundance.
Those bad feelings of why them and not me will not prevent the universe from continuing to bless them, BUT they will delay your blessings.
What we create with our thoughts is what we manifest physically.

Try being happy for others. See how you feel when you are genuinely engaged with their story, not in your head thinking about yourself, but right there with your friend or co-worker.
Try listening and genuinely allowing yourself to feel genuine happiness for them.
You will start to see a change in how others respond to you and how you feel about yourself.
You will start to see your life change positively just by being happy for someone else.
You will notice an increase in meaningful relationships and how you interact with those around you.
Other people will take just as much interest in you as you do in them, as that positive energy is infectious.
It might seem hard at first, but keep at it, and it will eventually become second nature because our natural state is to love one another.
So the next time someone tells you about something extraordinary that has happened to them, congratulate them and wish them well; you’ll be glad you did.
